Manage control-panel users and roles
Invite people to the hosting account and assign only the permissions they need.
Where Users
What this is for
- Invite a control-panel user.
- Choose an appropriate role.
- Review or remove access promptly.
Before you start
- Confirm the person's identity, work email and required administrator role.
- Search the existing list and choose the least privilege needed.
Take care
Do not share one administrator login between people. Individual accounts preserve accountability and can be revoked independently.
Steps
-
1
Open Users and search for the person before sending a duplicate invitation.
-
2
Select Add user and enter the person's working email address.
-
3
Choose the least-privileged role that covers their responsibilities.
-
4
Send the invitation and confirm the account is activated by the intended person.
-
5
Review privileged accounts regularly and remove access after role or supplier changes.
-
6
Use the activity log to review important administrative actions.
Check it worked
- The user appears once with the intended role and status.
- The invitation reaches the correct person and their account cannot access functions outside that role.
