Create and manage email accounts

What this is for

• Search all hosted mailboxes.
• Create an address on a hosted domain.
• Open webmail and manage account lifecycle.

Steps

   Open Emails in the main navigation and select Add account.

   In the first box, enter only the part before @, such as accounts or jane. In the domain box, choose the exact domain to place after @.

   Leave Make this email address a catch-all unticked for an ordinary mailbox. A catch-all receives messages sent to misspelled or nonexistent addresses on that domain and can attract a large amount of spam.

   Press Add and wait for the mailbox to appear in Email accounts.

   Use the mailbox row's three-dot menu to open its available actions, including password or deletion controls shown for your account.

   Create or reset a strong unique mailbox password when required and store it in a password manager rather than an email or support ticket.

   Open Webmail and sign in to the new mailbox.

   Send one message to an outside address and reply back to the new mailbox. This checks both outgoing and incoming delivery.

   If you delete a mailbox, treat the Deleted label as a warning stage and confirm retention requirements before any permanent deletion action.

Check it worked

• The mailbox appears in Emails and opens in webmail.
• Send one message into the mailbox and one message out to an external address; confirm both arrive.
