Configure mail routing and DKIM
Tell Enhance where inbound mail is handled and authenticate mail sent for the domain.

What this is for
- Choose local or remote inbound mail.
- Enable DKIM for hosted outbound mail.
- Coordinate routing with MX records.
Before you start
- Confirm whether inbound email is hosted by Enhance or by an external service such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
- Have the correct MX and any SPF instructions from that mail provider.
Take care
Mail routing and MX records must agree. A mismatch can cause rejected, delayed or locally misdirected mail.
Steps

Confirm which provider receives mail for the domain.

Choose Local mail when Enhance hosts the mailboxes, or Remote mail for an external provider.

Check that MX records match the chosen provider.

Enable DKIM when this platform sends mail for the domain.

Publish any required SPF or provider verification records.

Send inbound and outbound test messages and inspect headers for authentication results.
Check it worked
- Mail routing and the public MX records both point to the same intended mail provider.
- An inbound and outbound test message arrives and its headers show the expected DKIM result.
What the controls do
