Install WordPress on the selected domain and create its first administrator account.

What this is for
- Choose the WordPress version and destination.
- Create the administrator account.
- Avoid installing over existing files.
Before you start
- Confirm the selected domain and folder do not already contain a live application.
- Prepare a unique administrator username, a working email address and a password manager.
Take care
Check Files and Apps before installation. Installing into a directory containing a live application can overwrite or conflict with existing data.
Steps

Open Apps and select Install app.

Choose WordPress and select a supported version.

Select the domain and leave the path empty for the site root, or enter a deliberate subdirectory.

Enter a unique administrator username and a working email address.

Generate a strong password, store it securely and confirm it.

Select Install, wait for completion, then test the public site and WordPress Admin.
Check it worked
- The Apps page lists WordPress with the expected URL, folder and version.
- Both the public website and the WordPress Admin button open without an installation error.
What the controls do
