Enhance WordPress Toolkit plugins section

What this is for

  • See every installed plugin and status.
  • Control activation and automatic updates.
  • Remove unused plugins safely.

Before you start

  • Create a backup and record the current plugin name, version and status.
  • Use a trusted plugin source and confirm it supports the current WordPress and PHP versions.

Take care

Plugin updates can break compatibility. Change one component at a time and keep a tested rollback path.

Steps

  1. 1

Back up the website and note the current plugin version.

  2. 2

    Open Toolkit and choose Plugins.

  3. 3

Use Install to add a trusted plugin, or search the installed list.

  4. 4

Activate, deactivate or update one plugin at a time.

  5. 5

Test the public site, wp-admin, forms and checkout after each change.

  6. 6

Delete a plugin only after confirming its data and functionality are no longer required.

Check it worked

  • Toolkit shows the intended plugin version and Active or Inactive status.
  • Test the website feature provided by the plugin and check that no new fatal error appears.
