Restore or download a JetBackup recovery point

Choose the right data type and recovery date, then monitor the restore or download queue.

Where Tools → Files → JetBackup 5 → Restore & Download

Before you start

  • Preserve current data before restoring. Select a recovery point from before the problem occurred.
  • Confirm retention and available data types with your provider. An icon does not guarantee backups exist.

Steps

  1. 1

Choose Restore & Download, then the appropriate tab: Full Account, Home Directory, Databases, Database Users, Email Accounts, Domains, Cron Jobs or FTP Accounts.

  2. 2

Choose Download for an archive to inspect or keep, or Restore to write data back to hosting. Review the selected components and confirmation before queuing a restore.

  3. 3

Open Queue to track processing. A queued request is not a completed restore. For prepared archives, use Downloads once generation finishes.

  4. 4

If No Backups Found appears, check the category and ask your provider about availability. Do not try to force a restore by creating a new empty backup.

  5. 5

Open JetBackup 5 and review Total Backups on its dashboard.

JetBackup lists the recovery categories available to this account.
  6. 6

When recovery points exist, select the intended item/date. For a file-level recovery, use Home Directory and select only the necessary path; a full account restore affects much more.

Restore and Download stay disabled until a recovery point exists.

Check it worked

  • Wait for a successful queue result; investigate failed items.
  • After restoration, check website content, database-dependent functions and affected mail. After download, verify the file completed.
