Read visitor and Webalizer statistics
Use recent access entries and processed traffic reports for different questions.
Where Tools → Metrics → Visitors / Webalizer / Webalizer FTP
Before you start
- Expect a new account to have no reports yet. Processing and retention depend on server configuration.
- Treat IP addresses, requested URLs and log exports as potentially sensitive data.
Steps
-
1
Look at timestamps and requested paths to investigate a specific visit or error. Automated requests and bots can appear alongside people.
-
2
Open Visitors and look for the required domain. Use its View control when a row is available. The screen shows recent web-server entries, not a complete analytics history.
A new account can have no recent visitor reports to view. -
3
Open Webalizer for processed web-traffic reports. Select the domain/report when available, then compare the relevant period rather than mixing totals from different dates.
Webalizer reports are separate from raw recent visits. -
4
Webalizer FTP is a separate report for FTP activity; it is not a report of website visitors. An empty list can mean there is no reportable data.
FTP statistics concern file-transfer traffic. -
5
Open Metrics Editor to see which statistics programs are enabled. In this account the administrator manages them and Webalizer is On; there is no user-editable enable switch here.
This account’s metrics program selection is controlled by the administrator.
Check it worked
- Use the correct domain, protocol/report and date range.
- Do not equate hits or requests with unique people. If expected reports remain absent, ask support about logging and processing.
