Manage a mailbox, quota or password
Use the correct mailbox’s Manage button to adjust its settings.
Where Tools → Email → Email Accounts → Manage
Before you start
- Know the full address. The System account has different controls from normal mailboxes.
- A password change requires updating phones, computers and websites that use that mailbox.
Steps
-
1
Open Email Accounts and search for the address. Use Exceeded Storage to find full mailboxes.
-
2
For a normal mailbox, locate the password, storage, restrictions or plus-addressing section.
-
3
Enter a new password only if you intend to reset it. For storage, increase the quota only after checking the hosting account’s remaining space.
-
4
Review restrictions carefully: blocking login, incoming mail and outgoing mail are different actions. Do not change these merely to clear a quota warning.
-
5
Use the update/save button shown in the Manage form, then return to the list. Do not delete and recreate a mailbox to reset it; stored messages may be lost.
-
6
Click Manage on the correct row. On narrow screens, the small View details arrow reveals information that does not fit.
Locate the address, then click Manage on its row.
Check it worked
- Confirm the new quota and restriction status in the list.
- Update saved logins if necessary and test sending and receiving.
