Use WordPress Manager by Softaculous

Understand its Install, Scan and Remote Import entry points without duplicating a website.

Where Tools → WordPress Manager by Softaculous

Before you start

  • Decide whether you are creating a new site, discovering a local one or importing from another host.
  • Keep remote-login details and backup archives private.

Steps

  1. 1

Open WordPress Manager by Softaculous. This is a separate interface from WP Toolkit, even when both manage WordPress.

  2. 2

Use Install only for a genuinely new installation in an empty destination. Review the protocol, domain, directory and administrator credentials in the installer.

  3. 3

Remote Import is for bringing in an existing site from elsewhere. Review its requirements first, prepare a backup and confirm the destination has enough space. Do not change DNS until the imported site is tested.

  4. 4

Manage Sets and Featured Plugins relate to collections or additional plugins. Security Measures concerns the detected sites. Read the proposed changes before applying them; none is required simply to open the manager.

  5. 5

When sites are listed, select the intended one before any update, clone, backup or removal action offered by that installation. If no site is listed, use discovery or ask support rather than guessing a hidden control.

  6. 6

For a site already in this account, choose Scan. Wait for discovery and check the resulting domain/path before making changes.

Softaculous has its own Install, Scan and Remote Import controls.

Check it worked

  • Confirm the expected domain and installation directory appear.
  • Test the actual website; detection alone does not verify a migration or update succeeded.
