Install a new WordPress website
Choose the correct address and folder before installing through WP Toolkit.
Where Tools → Domains → WordPress Management → Install
Before you start
- Confirm the domain belongs to you, points to this hosting account and has a working SSL certificate.
- Check the chosen folder is empty. Back up any existing site; installing into its folder can overwrite or conflict with it.
Steps
-
1
Under Installation path, select the protocol and correct domain. Choose HTTPS only when its certificate works. Leave Installation directory empty for the main website, or enter a new folder such as blog for a site at /blog.
-
2
Enter the Website title, preferred language and suitable WordPress version. Review the Plugin/theme set rather than accepting extra software you do not need.
-
3
Expand Database and Automatic Update Settings. Keep a unique database and review which updates will be automatic. Confirm the complete installation URL and destination folder before continuing.
-
4
Click Install only when the destination is safe. Wait for completion, then use the resulting site/admin links. If the installer reports existing files, stop and investigate instead of forcing an overwrite.
-
5
Open WordPress Management. On this account it opens WP Toolkit, not the separate WordPress Manager by Softaculous. Click Install in the top toolbar.
WP Toolkit starts with Install and Scan when no sites are registered. -
6
In WordPress Administrator, choose a unique username, strong password and an email address you can access. Store the login securely; this is a WordPress login, not your cPanel password.
The actual installation form: confirm the domain, folder and administrator details.
Check it worked
- Open the public website over HTTPS and check its title.
- Sign into WordPress, confirm the administrator email and configure backups before adding content.
