Hide a directory’s file listing
Use No Indexing when visitors should not see a list of files in an unprotected folder.

Before you start
- Identify the correct website folder through Domains or File Manager.
- Understand that hiding a listing does not prevent access to a known file URL. Use real access controls for private files.
Steps

Click Edit beside the folder you want to configure. Check the Set Indexing for heading names that exact folder.

Choose No Indexing to stop a generated file list when the folder has no default index page. Inherit uses the parent/default setting.

Click Save after checking the folder and option. Test the folder’s public URL; a real index page or application router can take precedence over directory-listing behaviour.

Open Indexes and browse to the intended folder. Clicking a folder name goes inside it; Edit opens the setting for that folder.
Use the folder’s Edit control, not its name. -

Show Filename Only and Show Filename and Description expose a listing when no index page exists. Choose these only if you deliberately want a public file directory.
No Indexing disables the generated listing; Save applies the chosen setting.
Check it worked
- A directory without a default page no longer reveals its file list when No Indexing applies.
- Normal pages and allowed downloads still work.
