Read email and connect a mail app

Open Webmail or copy the correct secure connection settings into your mail app.

Where Tools → Email → Email Accounts

Before you start

  • Create a normal mailbox first. Its password may differ from your cPanel password.
  • Use your own mailbox’s connection details, not server names from someone else’s guide.

Steps

  1. 1

Open Email Accounts and locate the full address.

  2. 2

Open the available Webmail application to read and write messages. Email Accounts manages mailboxes; it is not the inbox itself.

  3. 3

For a desktop or mobile app, use Connect Devices or the mail-client configuration link offered for the mailbox. Copy its secure incoming and outgoing settings.

  4. 4

Use the full email address as the username. IMAP synchronises mail across devices; POP downloads mail and may remove server copies depending on your app settings. Enable outgoing-server authentication.

  5. 5

Enter the server names, ports and SSL/TLS mode exactly as supplied. If a certificate warning appears, check the hostname with support rather than bypassing it.

  6. 6

Click Check Email on that row. If it is hidden on a narrow display, expand View details or use a wider window.

Check Email opens Webmail for the selected account.

Check it worked

  • Send a message externally and reply to it. Check both Sent and Inbox.
  • If Webmail works but your app does not, recheck the app settings. If neither works, check quota, restrictions, MX and routing.
