Import email accounts or forwarders
Prepare a supported spreadsheet and map its columns before importing.
Where Tools → Email → Address Importer
Before you start
- Use the sample format linked from the page and check duplicate addresses.
- Account files can contain passwords. Keep them private and outside public_html.
Steps
-
1
Open Address Importer and select Email Accounts or Forwarders.
-
2
Use Choose File, select the prepared file, and click Next.
-
3
Match each source column to the field requested by cPanel. Check domains, addresses, quotas or destinations as appropriate.
-
4
Review the preview and start with a small authorised batch. Do not continue with uncertain column mappings.
-
5
Complete the import and review the entries under Email Accounts or Forwarders. Resolve rejected rows before repeating a batch.
-
6
Read the file-format example and prepare a supported .xls or .csv file with clear headings.
Select the import type before choosing the file.
Check it worked
- Compare the resulting entries with your source list.
- Test a mailbox or forwarder before handing over the batch and securely dispose of unneeded credential files.
